Thankful list

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!!!

For many, many years my family has been doing a thankful list. We each list five things we are thankful for that must be related to the year. My wonderful Mom keeps all our thankful lists and puts them into a book. It is so fun to go back and read our past thankful lists. Some years were more focused on school accomplishments. Other lists are more centered on health. I think it is really important to take some time each year and think about things we are thankful for. The Lord is so good and always faithful!!!

Disaster and Success!!!!

Last Sunday a good friend came over to teach me how to make delicious dinner rolls. Matthew loves her rolls and I am making them for Thanksgiving dinner this year (along with a pecan pie). So she graciously offered to come to our place and teach me. Well everything was going great until it was time to start using the flour. I had forgotten that I had bought whole wheat pastry flour to use instead of regular flour. The dough was all wrong and didn't really rise properly. I was bummed and was wondering what to do with this funny dough. Well, Matthew ended up making pizza!!! It was good but the crust was pretty heavy and thick. Overall this dough was my disaster.

So on Wednesday I decided to try and make the rolls again using regular flour. They are super easy to make and turned out so yummy!!!!

Now I get to experiment with pecan pie recipes!!!

Home project 2010

So I decided to redo our bedroom while Matthew was away hunting this year. When we painted it early on in our marriage, we envisioned a tropical type room that reminded us of Hawaii. Well, that never really happened aside from the bright colors in the room. This time around I decided to go neutral with the wall color and bedding and add pops of color here and there. I love the color green and ended up making that the color for now. I bought a new dresser as well and was finally able to put up my Uppercase living wall decal!!!! I am happy with the room so far. There are a few things to add here and there.
