Nursing Pinning Ceremony

On June 13th I was able to attend my Nursing Pinning Ceremony. As some of you know, I got really sick the last three weeks of school and had to defer those weeks till a later date. So I technically have not graduated yet, but I should be officially done with school the middle of July!!! The ceremony was a wonderful time of celebrating and remembering our past experiences as a nursing student. I must say, we had a pretty amazing group of students and wonderful faculty who helped us a long the way.

Sandi, my mother-in-law pinning me. She is a nurse and I thought it would be only fitting for her to pin me :-)

My amazing family who helped me through this whole process. Thank you all so much!!!

Beach Getaway

A good friend of ours offered us a cabin at the beach for a little getaway while Matthew was taking some time off before starting his new job. The weather was typical Oregon coast weather but it was nice to get away for the stress of home and enjoy the outdoors.

Date Night

A couple weeks ago we headed downtown for date night. We first went out for Sushi and then headed up to the Portland Rose Garden to enjoy the pretty flowers. Unfortunately the flowers weren't ready to display their loveliness so we then headed down to the WaterFront Village for some people watching. We had to get an Elephant Ear and man was it yummy!!! There was an animal exhibit that we could see for free so posted below are some pictures of the animals all caged up. It was amazing how close we could get. Incredible!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We headed to Detroit Lake over Memorial Day Weekend. We went on some hikes, lots of walks, food, games, and relaxation.

This is a picture of me and the fish. I only caught two but is was sure fun.

My other Sister-in-law Sarah

With fishing comes the gutting out and cleaning of the fish. Anna has one more year of Vet school left so she was particularly interested in the guts :-)

Mini Vacation Adventures

Matthew ended up taking two weeks off before starting his new job. We were able to do some fun things and I actually remembered to take the camera and get some pictures to share with all of you. We headed to the Rhododendron Gardens for date night a couple weeks ago. This is one of our favorite places to go. It is always very quiet and peaceful and full of beautiful flowers and lots of unique birds and animals.

Some unique ducks seen at the Garden

People can take food in for a picnic or just wonder the paths around the Garden. The best time to go is in early to mid may when all the flowers are in full bloom.

NEW JOB!!!!!!

Matthew started his new job at Garmin today. The Lord has definitely been with us through these last few months of job searching. Matthew will now be working down in Salem for the Garmin's Aviation GPS devision. Notice the nice work attire. Working at home allowed him to work in jeans and tee shirts, but I must say, he sure looks handsome in the business casual clothing required for this job :-).
